Palazzo Reale

June 14, 2013

September 8, 2013

Following the great success in Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice, the exhibition Gianni Berengo Gardin – Storie di un Fotografo (Stories of a Photographer) can now be seen in the Palazzo Reale in Milan. With 180 photographs it is the largest retrospective of the Italian master, which for this occasion includes 40 photographs dedicated to the city and people of Milan.

Gianni Berengo Gardin is one of the most prominent and enduring photojournalists of Italy. He tells the story of the political and social changes that have marked the history of the country, as well as providing images of life on the streets and of accidental encounters.

In addition, there is an in-depth series of photographs which explores the dramatic situation of mental hospitals in Italy and a series on the life of Gypsies, which is the result of Berengo Gardin’s stay in three Gypsy camps.
