With the exhibition Medardo Rosso – La Luce e la Materia (The Light and the Material), Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Milan presents one of the most influential sculptors of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Medardo Rosso (1858-1928) was an Italian sculptor. Like Auguste Rodin, with whom he was friends, Rosso is considered a Post-Impressionist. Rather than traditional historical, literary or allegorical themes, Rosso preferred contemporary subjects like ordinary people and the hardship of modern urban life.
Opening times are Monday 14:30–19:30, Thurday 9:30–22:30, and on other days 9:30–19:30.
