Museo Diocesano Milan

Museo Diocesano di Milano

The Museo Diocesano di Milano (Diocesan Museum of Milan) was founded in 2001 by the Archdiocese of Milan with the objective to exhibit the artistic treasures of the diocese in a dynamic and enjoyable space.

The permanent collection consists of over 700 works from between the 4th and 21st century and includes the collections of a number of archbishops of Milan like Monti, Visconti, and Riccardi. In addition to paintings from the churches of the diocese, the museum also houses a significant collection of liturgical furnishings.

Located in the ancient convent of Sant’Eustorgio, the museum underwent a long period of restoration following the bombing during the Second World War.
