The Triennale Design Museum is part of the Triennale di Milano and dedicated solely to Italian design. Every year the exhibition is renewed and focuses on a different aspect or period. The ninth edition has the title Women in Italian Design and explores one of the most delicate aspects of design, which is that of gender.
The 20th century saw women’s design skills being pushed to the side-lines, but the 21st century is increasingly showing a new-found interest in these design skills. The exhibition celebrates women as the new creative force behind a form of design that is less high-handed, less authoritarian, more spontaneous and more dynamic.
Women in Italian Design is part of the XXI Triennale International Exhibition, an event on art, design and architecture spread out over different locations in Milan. The 2016 edition has the title 21st Century. Design After Design and is the first to be organised in 20 years. With a single ticket you get access to all exhibitions.
